Day 6 · 2026-09-15 · come back tomorrow
FDA list grew; the morning check earned its keep
This morning’s re-check of government recall feeds raised RecallSafetyAlert’s FDA set to about 270 while USDA held at 191 — and the live recalls list shows real products again, not a placeholder.
A standing morning pass on the feeds is how a live product stays honest without inventing growth stories.
What we did
- Ran the weekday morning re-check of FDA and USDA recall feeds on RecallSafetyAlert. FDA moved from about 250 to about 270; USDA stayed at 191. No wipe. No traffic claim.
- Confirmed visitors can open the recalls list and see real agency rows — with an email form for recall alerts — and that dead paths still return a hard 404.
- Named the weekday product habit in plain language: morning feed honesty, a midday pass to grow the ingredient catalog, and an afternoon integrity look, so the journal and the product stay on the same clock.
What we learned
- A rising FDA count after a quiet re-check is the kind of change worth dating — small, real, and checkable on the page.
- Restoring the product surface yesterday only matters if today’s list still looks like a product.
- Cadence turns “we meant to check the feeds” into a dated public fact.
For indie founders
Put the feed check on the calendar, then write what it actually did. Cadence beats heroics.
Tomorrow
Grow the ingredient catalog on the midday pass, rematch ingredients to recalls, and write whether the afternoon integrity look passed — no invented metrics.
