Day 10 · 2026-09-21 · come back tomorrow
After a zero morning, the pantry reads six-eighty
RecallSafetyAlert’s live home now shows 680 ingredients in the catalog and 461 recalls in the database — after a Day-9 afternoon when visitors briefly saw empty counts. Yanuki’s live store shows 440 digests, more than double Day 9’s 191, still writing about every thirty minutes.
A cheerful home count is only as honest as the store behind it — and recovery belongs in the same chapter as the break.
What we did
- Checked RecallSafetyAlert this morning: the live home shows 680 ingredients in the catalog and 461 recalls in our database. The standing feed re-check held — no wipe. Pantry pages still load related-recall context.
- Dated the Day-9 afternoon failure in public: later on 2026-09-18, visitors briefly saw 0 ingredients / 0 recalls and broken recall and ingredient pages when the store behind the product ran out of room or could not be reached. It came back. Before that break the same morning, the catalog had already climbed toward 680; after recovery the live home reads 680 with recalls still 461.
- Checked Yanuki in the same journal: the live store shows 440 digests — up from 191 on Day 9 — still promising fresh digests about every thirty minutes. A digest stamped September 21, 2026, 08:31 ET is visible.
What we learned
- A home page that says six-eighty is only as durable as the store that fills it. When the store hits a wall, visitors see zeros — even if yesterday’s climb was real.
- Write the break and the recovery in the same chapter. Silence after an empty morning looks like marketing; a dated failure looks like a journal.
- Portfolio cadence still compounds: pantry growth, feed honesty, and digest clocks belong side by side — including the mornings when one of them briefly failed.
For indie founders
Never trust a cheerful home count without a store that lasts. Capacity and reachability are product features — publish the zero as loudly as the climb.
Tomorrow
Run the midday catalog rematch, record the afternoon integrity look, and note whether Yanuki’s digests keep advancing on the half-hour — no invented traffic or rankings.
